Spike-and-Slab LASSO

Project Description

The LASSO is a critical method in modern statistics, but it can struggle with correlated features. The spike-and-slab LASSO is an alternative penalty that can perform better in these settings. This project aims to unify various implementations of the spike-and-slab LASSO into a new, interoperable R package built around a shared C++ library.

Interns primarily work on refactoring existing C++ code, developing user-facing R wrapper functions, creating documentation, and developing vignettes to demonstrate the package’s functionality.
