Open Source Program Office Manager to Speak at DevFest 2024

The UW–Madison Open Source Program Office (OSPO) Manager, Allison Kittinger, will present a talk entitled "Welcoming and Belonging in Open Source" at DevFest 2024 on August 22nd in the Memorial Union. A description of the talk is below.

The success of open source projects is heavily based on community and volunteer contributions. This talk takes a look at persistent barriers to participation in open source, best practices for inclusive open source community growth, and compensation models for labor in open source.
