Sticky-Sonic Trap

Project Description

Insect biodiversity is in decline, and automation of monitoring is a promising approach to quantifying it. The Sticky-Sonic Trap is an open-source sensor that uses a camera and an air microphone to cross-validate insect detection and identification.

Interns work on making the trap more user-friendly, developing machine learning algorithms for quantifying biodiversity using labeled data, enhancing the codebase, and creating technical documentation and tutorials to increase system accessibility.
