Roadmap

Led by the director of the Data Science Institute and the OSPO Program Manager, the OSPO will engage in a variety of activities for the benefit of our community, including:

Open Source Facilitation

• Symposia

  Conducting annual symposia and training events aimed at growing open source projects and community.

• Workshops

  Hosting a series of internal workshops with key partners to raise open source awareness and adoption.

• Surveys

  Conducting a campus-wide open source community landscape survey to get a picture of the campus culture and create an initial index of open source efforts and projects.

Open Source Participation

• Internships

  Expanding our existing Open Source Internship program and broadening participation through a partnership with Madison College.

• Training

  Conducting Carpentries-style training programs and resource pages to hone the skills needed as an effective open source contributor.
